My incredibly thoughtful husband has been showering me with books about all things "North Carolina." Farms, Hikes, Places to Eat, Things to do with kids, etc... - if there's adventure to be had here in the Tar Heel State, then we have a book for it! He's put his best foot forward in an effort to ward off what I call the "transitional depression" that seems to come with each of our moves. I am thankful that he loves me through it!
Anyway, all that to say, we came upon an adventure that we KNEW our sweet Lucas would love. We couldn't wait to take him to ride on the
Hope Valley Railroad to celebrate his upcoming 3rd birthday! We were joined by the lovely Capps Family and were able climb aboard a historic steam engine for an hour long ride along an old tree lined track just outside of Chapel Hill.

That steam whistle was so loud! Lucas and Tovi thought it was hilarious to cover their ears and scream EVERY time it blew! (speaking of loud!) |

The New Hope Railroad also has a train museum with many other diesel engines and train cars of all kinds to climb around on and explore. |

A birthday treat! |
What a great day!
